Swanage Seafishing

February report

Well, after a stunning few days it now looks like that’s it for February, with strong winds forecast for the next week or so! The last few trips we have enjoyed flat seas and some lovely sunshine, which really felt like Spring is on the way.

After some of the best whiting fishing I’ve had, the marks inshore have now slowed up but there is still a good mix of Ray’s and the odd whiting, however not quite like it was last month. The inshore reefs to the west of Swanage are producing a mixture of Ray’s Huss and congers. The best fishing we’ve had is on the banks a few miles to the south of Swanage and again there is a good mixture of Ray’s, plenty of Huss and congers and some cracking spur dogs, we’ve e even had the first tope of the year. Though March we will carry on targeting the Spurs and Ray’s and head out to the wreaks to chase some pollack and even a ling or two.

Look forward to seeing you onboard soon.
