On Monday 27th May 2019, we will be running a day event, for both kids and their adults, to give boat fishing a go! The aim is to introduce children to boat angling (and bring the adults back into it!) Whether an experienced angler or a novice, we aim to provide an enjoyable outdoor experience that will engage and inspire children being out at sea, as well as raising awareness of the health and safety factors relating to the water.
The day will be broken up into 3 parts, over 8 hours as follows:
A tour of Swanage Lifeboat Station, with a talk on sea safety A tackle and rig making workshop, followed by lunch… Then head out to sea, for a fishing competition between the boats!
The day will also be free of charge! We are very fortunate to have gained so much support from different companies in order to run this event, as they too are very keen to get kids out fishing!
A massive thank you to Fladen for supplying goody bags and prizes, Fishzone for the tackle, Devon Baits and Swanage Angling Centre for supplying the bait, and contributions also from the Angling Trust.
If you fancy giving this a go please contact me at email@example.com or call me on 079325 57376. Spaces are limited to 10 children and 10 adults, so it’s on first come, first served basis. Fingers crossed we get a good response, and therefore we will try and run another during the summer holidays.
Many Thanks Tom
